@Jumper118knows my water scores for my 5960x. Hopefully phase on a Ryzen can beat it. Would be interesting.

TBH, single core will be more interesting.... Because we already know that Ryzen kicks ass in multithreaded applications!

yeah you have to hope for kaby clocks as well :P they will still be $1000+ though

I love how you compare Ryzen cold to Haswell-E / Skylake-X at ambient.

well i am hoping my 1800X is faster on phase and ln2 than the 5960x i had under water.

If you would have put the 5960x on phase it would have been a better comparison. Like I said, you like Ryzen on phase compared to Intel on ambient. Lol

It is fair, when you consider that the 1800X can't get to 4GHz on water xD

Opening CPUz and GPUz for all your  benchmarks is going to suck, because Ryzen's single thread sucks so bad that opening CPUz and GPUz will take longer than the benchmark you just ran. Lol

Switch to UEFI. Problem solved.  It also has Quad channel and too many PCIe lanes to prep during boot. Ryzen doesn't have them to worry about.

Agreed. Great heavy workload chip.

Skylake X is coming. That's where I'm going for all my heavy work needs.

Hopefully Kaby Lake IPC or better across 10 cores. Yummy!

Didn't you just mention that i7 7700k is your daily driver now? You have the best 5960X chip that was ever made, and you would like to have 10 core CPU xD What for lol

And that also remind me of something ... you had 6950X for few days/weeks, so I'm still calculating why would you want to buy another 10 core CPU, when you returned 6950x last time xD

Doesn't R7 1800X work great at 4,0GHz on air cooling?

The 6950x could not clock high enough to beat the single-threaded performance of my 5960x. When I bought it, I was hoping for higher single-threaded and multi-threaded performance once overclocked, but that wasn't the case. It did a lot better than my 5960x in multi-threaded apps, but it bugged me that even with IPC improvements, it was slower single-threaded than my 5960x when both were overclocked.

Skylake-X may have Kaby Lake like IPC so it'll be much better in single-thread.
