Ha. Now this I mildly approve of. If you going to be a turbo noob and run at stock you might as well help save dat £0.01 on your power bill and heat in summer. People who run stock at all auto settings on k chips who are mentally capable of going into a bios and pressing the - key on the voltage are

1) morons

2) lazy

But I don't need the extra performance is a bs excuse.

3) very bad at video games and can't hit the BIOS key in the window of time it's presented.

Haha...it will probably go to one of my Nephews.  Everything still works and the battery has over 1300 cycles on it and still lasts long enough not to complain about.  It has been awesome and will be replaced with it's current equivalent.

Or, hear me out, replace it with one of those Acer laptops that have a Ryzen 2700... At least then it won't be too embarrassed by your desktop ;)

God it's just unfair that your chip is slightly faster while also not being a goddamn 290X shoved in a laptop (compared to my E4310 with the 580M). Thanks Intel. I hit a cool 93C on this run (though I was still turboing to 3.3 on both cores).

Yes, I did it in a VM, with my host's CPU underclocked to 800 MHz (multiplier was 8), and the VM set to 10% CPU cap.  :P  And of course there were some other things running simultaneously on the host. xD

I tried 1% but noticed the score was too high, so tried 10% and it had the same score, so it looks like I couldn't go below that.  I really wanted a multi-core score of like 2 or 3 on all 8 threads.

Now ... who has a multi-core score in CB R20 that's LOWER than that single-core score? ...

Spoiler

running at stock settings (no underclocking, undercore/thread-ing), and NOT in a VM? :P  Oh, and also,

on your MAIN daily driver / production system. :D

You must not have opened the spoiler. :P  It was in a virtual machine, with the VM CPU execution cap set at 10%, and the host CPU underclocked to 800 MHz.  (It seems Windows 10 in VirtualBox doesn't differentiate between normal cores and SMT, instead treating them all as cores.)

Here's an un-spoilered screenshot during the run, from the host's perspective.  This also has CPU-Z in the VM.

1820865508_Screenshot(456).thumb.png.0106b0e83fc6be61b1f51e030bb50b95.png

Actual uptime in the VM's task manager should have been more like 1 day 3 hours 12 minutes.  With the VM being so aggressively throttled, it was VERY unresponsive, and the uptime in task manager reflected when I started the single-core test.  (The multi-core test was started within a few minutes after booting the VM, and had finished while I was away sometime before 9 hours and change.  I also had to temporarily set it to normal speed from the host to be able to effectively interact with it.)

Now I'm almost wanting to do the same thing with my desktop's 4790K (the 6700K is in my laptop), but this time have Prime95 or something running on the host while the CB20 is running in the VM. :P (I did have stuff running on the 6700K host OS, but it was my normal usage, not quite pinning the CPU at 100% like P95 would, although it frequently came close and sometimes did hit 100% for a while.)

But idk when I'll power the 4790K on next - the area is quite cluttered, I haven't run it since at least last summer (2018), and some of its necessary parts (PSU, fans, etc) are uninstalled for now.

@PianoPlayer88Key I could imagine how long it would take, wasn't being serious ;)

BTW you could if you wanted too, run normal with no VM and duty cycle the CPU to 6.25%.
