exactly. my dual e5 2670 are faster and they cost £60 each £300 for motherboard and ram :D you could get a z10pe d8 ws and 2 10 or 12 core chips for the price of just that cpu alone

Initial reviews are showing 5+ GHz to be very easy one mild water AIO type setups.  It may not have any IPC improvements, but a higher average overclock will be nice.

That's very impressive.  Seems like a lot of folks are bitching about the lack of IPC improvements, but if average overclocks shift from 4.6 to say 5.0 to 5.1, I think the new chip will be a success.  Not to mention they definitely did improve the 4k encoding as shown in HarwareCanucks video.

Yep.  5 GHz just sounds good.  Skylake was so close that everyone hunted for it.  With Kaby Lake, it appears to be the new standard.

thanks for the info jumper118
the e5-2670v3 cost 1589 $ on intel website
plus 18% tax to get it in my country and 2% for the seller
= 1906$ , in my case i want 2 , so the price is 3812$ for cpu only
i don't buy used stuff online , only brand new from official sellers
it will last longer , perform better , and more trusted

and Dual Intel Xeon e5 2670 (16 Cores / 32 threads) Cinebench Score is 2013 cb
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJtMEg93LN8
i got my cpu for 2000$ and its scoring around 1900 cb
so no, 2x e5-2670 are not faster and way out of budget
plus , i have core number 9 running at 4000mhz out of the box
for single thread applications , and all other cores are running at 3500mhz while rendering

i have a water cooling , so OC would be a good idea
but i heard it will shorten the life of the cpu that i paid a lot to get it .
is it gonna be worth it ? like 25% faster ?

if it cost like 300-400$ its fine i get i new one , but this cpu cost me a lot
would you recommend overclocking it ?
and what are the results i'll be looking at ?

I was talking about the v1 not the V3.

It seems you have not done enough research before building your PC or you have got your information from a bad source.

You have a 6950x now so it's too late,  but basically it is the worst cpu for any solution at that price point. The only reasons to owe one is for extreme oc or epeen. By running it at stock you are making the value of this cpu even worse.

Now you also being concerned about the cpu dying is also not an issue because 90% of the time a motherboard will die long before the cpu due to them having loads of things to go wrong. A cpu even overclocked to a reasonable voltage should last 8-10 years with no problems. If you wanted to cpu to last the longest possible time you would run stock speed,  but you would also lower the voltage. This would make your cpu last literally for ever and by the time it dies we will probably have 0.14nm cpus with 100 cores :P

An average 6950x on water should do 4-4.5ghz depending how good it is, this is a big improvement over stock. because you are using water cooling temps won't be an issue and the sweet spot overclock for a 6950x will be using around 1.3-1.4v.  This will give you  good lifespan,  temps and maximise the performance of the cpu.
