How about one like this @X_X? :P

I tried installing a VM on that a while ago ... it refused to even attempt to install.

I didn't attempt to downclock it though, but I doubt I could get very far.  (I wonder what might happen if I'm running Prime95 and Cinebench at the same time... but not gonna do it right now, would have to swap my SSD back in and have other things going on.)

I'd like to see someone's run with a multi-threaded score of 1, or even lower (if you look at the text file for the run I think it goes to several decimal places), on native OS (no VM), at all stock settings  (no underclock, and no running Prime95 in the foreground and Cinebench in the background, and preferably not a 1-core / 1-thread CPU). :P

Speaking of that text file, I booted that VM again, and the scores to 6 decimal places were .... well, actually the file didn't get saved for that run.  (I wonder if it's because the host BSOD'd from an unrelated issue before I closed Cinebench in the VM...)  I did find another run though, where the multi-core score was 6.247683, but no single-core score.

Speaking of BSOD ... I wonder if there's a way to make a VM Windows install BSOD, without using the registry key that allows you to manually initiate a bugcheck, and having the host continue operating normally...

Looks good to me but it's @Jumper118 you need to convince. Better hope someone hasn't stolen the jam from his donut. :)

Not sure there's a system slow enough and meets the minimum requirements of CBR20 to score an MT of 1 cb if run at defaults.

Here's my scores for a couple core 2 Quad CPU's I have. The first is a Q6600 with a score of 509. The second is a Q9550, @ stock clock of 2.84GHz it got a score of 680. @ 3.4GHz I got a score of 815!

The weird thing I have noticed though is that Core #0 runs the hottest and core #1 runs the coolest. Any ideas what could be causing this? I am running a Hyper 212 Evo cooler and I know I have good coverage with the thermal paste....

I was thinking too, toward the other end of the spectrum ...

I wish Cinebench versions (or equivalent software) would run on a wider range of hardware as far as performance goes.  For example, either running a really old version of CB (from like early 2000s or even 1990s or 1980s if it was around then), or, running R15 or R20 on hardware in like the 2030s ...

If a typical then-new $300 CPU on release of a CB version took a few minutes to render the scene, then...

The much faster CPU quite a few years later, with the same CB version, would render a VIDEO (from which the CB scene was a screenshot) at least at like 2x (if not 4x+) EACH your new display's refresh rate and resolution.

For example, if you had a 4K (3840x2160) 144 Hz monitor, it would render a by-then older version Cinebench scene movie at 8K (7680x4320) at 288 Hz or 15K? (15360x8640) at 576 Hz.  That's BEFORE using any GPU assist.  With GPU assist, it would be as much faster as how much faster the GPU is than the CPU in TFLOPS, for example.

I also remember my brother rendering fractals on a 286-10 in the early 90s.  Sometimes he'd start one, we'd go away for a weekend, and it MAY (or not) be done (with ONE image) when we got home.  (I think I remember him doing the Mandelbrot Set a lot.)  I STILL don't know if current CPUs can render a fractal VIDEO at faster-than-refresh-rate / real-time yet, especially single-threaded.

Problem is that it's not just clock speed that has improved although we seem to have been stuck at around 5GHz for quite a few years now, but also IPC, new instructions, multithreading, bigger registers, faster memory. Some of the older instructions no longer run natively in longmode (64-bit mode).

@iamjoshchampagne

You should be getting over 1700. Try increasing priority to high and the CPU-Z windows can be brought to the front by clicking on their perspective icons on the taskbar.

In my testing, R20 doesn't vary with changes in priority.

I'd recommend upgrading to latest version of bios, stock my same laptop got 621cb plugged in. They are quite nice laptops for $550 though, I've been enjoying mine since I've gotten it. I only could get 550cb on the bios it came with, latest is 1.19.

Messing with TDP and power delivery restrictions I was able to get upto 668cb though.

Not surprised at the lower multi threaded score than the Xeon, but it seems to run games better regardless. BTW, this i3+the mobo ended up being a drop-in replacement, just switched out the P5Q Deluxe+Xeon for the Sabertooth....and Windows 10 didn't throw a fit this time. Also, this i3 hasn't been run stock as soon as I was able to get into the BIOS:
