Good second monitor for multitasking?

Air tree

Well i'm thinking of running 2 monitors, One 1440p for my main things like gaming and things like that. And i was wondering what's a good secondary cheaper 1080p monitor is good for something like skype or the forums while gaming.

And i have never had a dual monitor setup before. So how do i make it so when i'm doing things on the 1440p monitor things on the 1080p one doesn't minimize the program or browser?

And thing i would like.

Portrait mode, Not needed but it's a pretty big bonus

21"-24" is what i'm looking for

Ips! I will not take anything but ips.

Matte is what i prefer.

My suggestion would be Dell U2312HM, has a built in swivel so you can put it in portrait without a mounting arm.

Also for what ever you get (assuming windows 7)

  • Plug in the monitor
  • Right click on desktop
  • Screen Resolution
  • Click on Multiple Displays drop down and click Extend these displays
  • Then whatever you do on your main monitor won't effect what happens on your 2nd and you can use them at the same time.

Going dual monitors eh?

Good luck, they won't minimize each no, if you put the settings in that way. :)

Get DisplayFusion if you can. A little expensive but imo well worth it.

I personally have a Dell U2412HM. Which is both IPS and matte as my main, 24 inch. The second monitor I have is a random 22 inch Samsung one, non IPS.
