!!HELP PLEASE!! Bad GPU performance in games

BE SYNYSTER

I recently bought a new graphics card, an MSI R9 380 GAMING 4GB.

Recently, i have been getting not very good FPS.

I play Battlefield 4 at like 30-40 fps, even on low.

On GTA V, no matter how low the settings are (usually its just on high with no anti aliasing) its like 25-30 fps

I know this card can do better and the drivers are up to date (Crimson 16.6.2)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Specs:

CPU- Amd Athlon X4 860K

GPU- MSI R9 380 GAMING 4G

MB-GIGABYTE F2A78M-HD2

RAM-8GB Kingston HyperX 1866Mhz

Have your fps gone down? Or just not happy with them?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I just play at 1080p. I have A sentey 725 watt xps power supply. Framerates should just be better i think. my 760 performed better than this but this is more powerful than a 760

Use DDU and do a safe mode driver cleaning, then re install Crimson and the drivers.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

good idea......... and don't select the auto update thing on the reinstall.......... even though I think it ignores the setting when you choose it.

Probably not. that cpu is capable of more than 30-40 fps in bf4....

I have no idea whats going on. I've uninstalled/ clean reinstalled drivers, lowered my settings all the way, and still getting low 30-40 fps. My cpu utilization while playing is only 70%, and my temps are all within check.

ugh fine. op download msi afterburner, show gpu power, gpu usage, and frames in game (using the rivatuner that comes with afterburner) and see if it looks abnormal

Framerate was in the 30-45 range, and dropping to about 25 in heavy battles. CPU Usage was about 80-90%.  Memory usage was about 2.2 gb max.

You have a CPU bottleneck. Sorry.

nooo I wanna see gpu usage/power, to make sure it's actually doing work. msi afterburner or hwinfo64 can show this

GPU usage was like the same, 80-90% fluxuating. And i don't think my CPU is bottlenecking. A friend of mine has the same CPU and a 960 and gets about 60-80 fps with the same settings as mine, maybe even higher

Because the 960 has less driver overhead. If you're not getting 100% utilization on the GPU but the CPU is near 100%. Text book bottleneck.

The GPU does hit 100% utilization though at some points

You should see a solid 100% utilization in games. Not sometimes. The 960 is much better for lower end CPUs because of AMDs high driver overhead.
