Recommend me a Graphics Card GeForce Edition!

OK LTT, I am in the market for a new GPU for my system. Seeing that I have Fallout 4 and I want to play it on the max settings possible What does LTT recommend for my build?

Speccy Build:

One thing speccy didn't include is my Power Supply. It is a 850 Watt Antec.

I am wanting to stick with the green team hence GeForce edition.
I can spend up to $300 on a GPU. I may can spare a little more if the performance is worth it.

You could get a GTX 970, but that's ultimately outclassed in terms of price by the RX 480. Only viable option would be to wait for the GTX 1060 and see how that turns out.

Wait for the 1060. Then compare it to other current GPUs and get either a rx 480(aftermarket), a 970 or a 1060.

I am going to wait for the GeForce 1060 to come out. I want to see some reviews on it....

If it turns out to be a flop, Ill probably go with a GeForce 970 for now....

Tbh, if the 1060 turns out to be garbage, I would save more to get a 1070. For $75 - $130 more you can obtain faster than Titan X performance with amazing 1440p performance. I know it's very hard to obtain that much more money sometimes so it's not really outrageous to get a 970. It's all up to you though, man.

I'm a person, you're a person...Together, we are people.

I did a rough calculation in another thread, and 1060 will likely be 4% slower than a 980, stock vs. stock. That's fairly impressive if MSRP is $249 and First-dibs Edition is $299. Its a midrange sized chip so availability will be better.

I had a friend tell me that the 1060 will not support DX12.

They've probably been drinking the AMD koolaid a bit too much. "Support" is an unclear definition when it Comes to DX12 readiness, as you can see below.

Surprisingly, Skylake is the only graphic architecture that appears to fully support DX12, while pascal and polaris mostly support dx12.
