I'm not sure what you mean.

This guide is for creating image with which you remove a lot of the apps during customization of the image. It's not something you do on an already set up machine.

I don't offer support for that in particular since this is about making a Windows image, not how to use Macrium and there are various tools out there to do that. You can try Acronics instead.

No, because I haven't gone through the process of making one in probably about two years now. My current workplace doesn't make images for some reason (which I want to change sometime later this year) and I don't really use Windows at home except for two specific VMs but those don't have overlap. Most of the process is probably still the same (for example how to get into audit mode and sysprep. I just haven't verified some of the details in the middle of the guide which is why this marked as out-of-date.

There are plenty of other guides out there. I have no plans to update this any time soon.

Sorry to bump this thread from so far back, but do you have links to any similar guides? I also can't see the steps listed in part 7 and am wondering what exactly needs doing there because it isn't really explained.

You need to capture the WIM image of the drive, which I suppose is effectively cloning it. Ideally you could use something FOG Project or Microsoft MDT/WDS to capture it. Alternatively you can create your own WinPE image to use in order to capture it. https://www.anoopcnair.com/sysprep-capture-windows-10-image-using-dism/

Kind of a funny coincidence that you asked about this as now I'm the actual network admin (I really wasn't actually one despite my original post saying so, was more like a junior admin at most) having one of our techs build out a deployment environment.
