Overclocking a i5 2300 SB help

Hi, so Im thinking about overclocking my cpu, a sandybridge i5 2300. I have a cooler master seidon cpu cooler and a msi Z77A-G43 motherboard. But since I haven't done something like this before I want to know a bit about how, and diagnostics and monitoring. Also how far I can go with my processor. It's only on 2,8 ghz so it's pretty low and I assume I can't go too far. I do know that I will remove warranty and it is on my own risk and all that.

But basically I want to know about how to overclock. If someone feels that they have the time to help me I would appreciate it!

Regards,

Ludwig Johnson

There is a K at the end of overclockable Intel chips.

All Intel CPUs have locked multipliers except the ones marked with a K at the end like the i5-2500K and so on. You can mess around with the base clock still but that's a very finicky process and you won't be able to overclock it to any meaningful degree that way.
