Hey everyone,

I wish to pursue a career where i get the opportunity to design CPU, but i am confused which engineering degree to go for:

Should i be going for Electrical and Electronics Engg.(EEE) or Electrical and communications Engg.(ECE)

Pretty sure you would need electrical and electronics engineering. Check Intel and AMD's career page and see what the requirements are for silicon engineers.

I wouldn't get too invested in a single subject so early on, I'm going into my junior year of high school and have changed what I want to do for college a few times and probsbly will a few more times. Try to spend time doing things that interest you, but build a bit of a diverse set of interests. Good luck.

Look at what AMD or Intel want from new employees. Also, check out ARM, Qualcomm and stuff. ARM and QUALCOMM also  make CPUs so you should probably have a look at them as well.

Just reading them I would pick EEE but I have no idea what they require.
