Game Developers! What have you done????!!!!! You sexist monstrosities.........

 

So, 97% of games shown at E3 contained a Male protagonist while only 3% featured exclusively a female protagonist.

 

This is unbelievably sexist. How could you possibly think that a video game can't include women? Did you think that women don't play video games?

 

Did you think they were not "manly" and therefore cannot play video games?

 

Whatever the stupid excuses are, cut the BS and just add an option in your game to have a female main character.

The % part makes it seems worse but its 2/26. We have to remember here, it's probably easier for males (The most prominent gender in tech), to make male characters. I wouldnt call it sexist

And if they had made female lead character they would have been accused of using them as eye candy, and objectifying them for the sake of the male audience members. 

There is no winning in this scenario.

 

If these people want female character they are free to make their own games. Hell, I'll even play the game if it's good. 

My best guess is that most game developers are men, and therefor they find it easier to makes games that feature men.

There are plenty of strong female characters. Sure not the main protagonists but very strong characters.

Like Elena Fisher from uncharted series,  Bayonetta is a strong female character too, she doesn't care what she looks like or how sexual she is, thats who she is, she embraces it.

I also just remembered that I have played quite a bit of Fran Bow recently.

That game also features a female lead character (man, now I want to play Fran Bow again).
