eBay Computer Parts

Should I buy a graphics card off eBay? Or really any computer parts off eBay? What's your opinion?

be careful with it but i would do it on a tight budget

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I've bought lots of computer parts off ebay, just make sure you buy from a reputable seller with plenty of positive feedback and you should be fine. The only issue is that if you ever need to RMA a product, sometimes the manufactures can be dicks if you say you bought the product off ebay.

I've done very well off of eBay.  Refurb laptops.  "Broken" motherboards that I've revived with things as simple as removing the battery for an hour.  Computer parts of almost all kinds.   Check out the feedback ratings.  And keep in mind that  at some level, it is a gamble.  So don't risk money that you absolutely can't afford to lose.

My only 'bad' incident with eBay was buying a digital camera from a guy in Ottawa about 15 years ago.  Spent a small fortune on it, and it didn't show up.  Ended up getting the cops (OPP) involved and the guy ultimately was charged with fraud and pled guilty (pulled the same scam against ~20 others!).  Received court-ordered restitution for 70% of my outlay a year later.
