wow, C2D computers have high value in Australia!

recycling PC stores around here are selling for that much (40-50 CAD) so it's even cheaper when buying from private owners. My 2 Core 2 Quads were free, and that's 2 years ago! lol

The Linus videos when they were at free geek, they were selling Core2 Duo computers for $50 to $65CAD.

Anyway with the Ebay market, they tend to auction off for $30AUD for C2D and 2GB Ram, $40AUD for C2D with 4GB Ram.

I am hopping to have them at a set price at $20 for P4 (Northwood) 1GB Ram, $25 for P4 (Presscott) 2GB Ram, $30 for PD 2GB Ram, $35 for CD2/PDC 2GB Ram, $40 for C2D/PDC 4GB Ram, but if I actually sell them is another question, especially since I am not in the city.

If we're talking single item that made the most impact, I'd say the SSD I put in my laptop.  It feels like a brand new highend rig now (when it comes to general use at least).  I would say it's as good as new after 5 years, but that would be a lie - it is way better  than it was when it was new! :D

oh, it was like $100 +/- $10 or so (don't quite remember)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Logitech G910 $130ish CAD - new year's eve sale at ncix, pretty good deal when it was going for $200-$230. I really like these Romer-G switches, feels like membrane yet it's mechanical and not clicky loud (cherry...)

Logitech G700s $70-80 CAD - 2+ years old yet still performs well except battery life seems to be shortening =/

Not to be rude, but that actually sounds like a terrible deal. Iirc the card was priced ~$100 when it was launched.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

$100 CAD? $100 USD is $130 CAD. This is the Superclocked 4GB GDDR5 model, $165 is approximately $130 US. I don't think a 4GB SC card would be that cheap :/

Oh $200 CAD? If so then for that model that seems good. Apologies.

No offense but that's the worst GPU you could have bought for that amount of money.

I would classify that as "worst purchase", not "best".

Well...

I saw an old ATI GPU for $3 at Micro Center a couple months ago. If you bought that for $165 it would have been a worse purchase.

>if

that's the point though, you did not purchase that card for 165 USD..

I mean if I bought that GPU you mentioned for 5.000.000 USD it would have been a worse purchase, but:

1. it wasn't that expensive

2. you did not buy it (for that price)

Sometimes these "if" arguments are cool, but it's just not a relevant/realistic example.

I think you need some math classes, I clearly said "for that amount of money" ... last time I looked, $3 ≠ $199

I know. But @wkdpaulsaid a GT740 was the worst GPU you can buy for $165, and I've never seen a GT740 go to that price either.
