Definitely not. The only way it would be conceivably worth it is if you are rolling in money or are desperate for extreme quality VR

no way dude, its crazy too that many people are selling thier 980 ti to upgrade to 1080, wait for at least the 1080ti. i got my 980ti for $350 off craigslist so im just gonna buy another one and wait until the freaking gtx 1280ti comes out lmao

but i understand if you want the latest and greatest and if you have a way go for it but from what i seen its around 10-20 fps faster at 1080p and imo thats not worth it

MY OPINION RIGHT HERE -

If your brother is going to buy it from you for nearly $600, then you really wouldn't be paying much ($60 US or so) to get a better graphics card, with all of nVidia's fancy new features. Getting another 980ti would cost hundreds.

I used to be quite active here.

selling your 980ti to your brother for 575 is sticking a big fat one in his rear end.

Not cool.

Just my opinion.

As has been said: If the upgrade is cheap, then yes. If you need to shell out a lotta money for 1080-beating 980Ti SLI then why not get the whack for your 980Ti and get a 1080? Spend the money you save on fans or mice maybe?

How about your little brother buys a 1080, if he's shelling out damn near six bills he may as well get a 1080...:P:ph34r:

Living in Canada, I sold my 2nd Ti the day after the 1080 announcement(hoping people wouldn't have heard about it yet) for $700 CAD, currently $550 USD. It was an EVGA Ti Hybrid. I feel as if both parties made out in the deal...

I have 3 1080 displays rotated verticals and playing in surround, so i need the better quality, not to mention the Simultaneous Multi Display, so I'm personally using that money to buy a 1080, and then either sell the second Ti, or use it as a ridiculous Physx card....
