Best Password Manager?

I recently found out that several of my accounts have been breached and I think its time for me to start using a password manager.  but I dont know what the best option would be.

 

Should I invest the $12 and get LastPass, or are there better options out there?

What password manager do you guys use?

You don't need to pay for the Premium version of LastPass unless you use multiple devices. If you only use one pc, or one laptop then just use the free version.

But i'd also keep a hand written copy of your login info, and keep it safe somewhere.

you make your passwords, google chrome saves them

I would say KeePass2 it is safe and you can get many plugins for it. Like Browser integration and co.

first 3 letter of name followed by birth day plus birth month plus birth year

I use the free version of lastpass and it suits my needs, but some recent issues I have had with it working properly (possibly chromes fault) and going to switch to keepass over the next few months

Just make sure you backup that database on multiple locations. If you lose it....

I'd agree with KeePass as well. I've used it for a few years now, its got every feature I've needed and the stuff it doesn't is easily fixed with plugins.

Can keep the file either locally or on cloud storage for access depending on how often you'll need to access it. 

Its got decent android app, chrome plugins and a desktop client and as far as I know also has OSX and Linux variants.

Well then you're using one password for everything which is a terrible idea.

lol been using it for 5 years, i use it for every single stuff, never got hacked, prob just stay out of fishy links and stuff

it doesnt STORE them in plain text

thats what matter

of course if you want to then you can go look at them in case you forgot what something was

 

you need to be both logged in to google chrome AND logged into your PC, and you need to put your PC's password in before you can view chrome passwords

 

if you dont have a password on your PC and someone has access to it then that's your fault, and no password storing programs will protect you from that
