Why did you change the LAN host? The difference between x.2 and x.150 is wide and I doubt you've that many devices in your house... are you sure you know what is it?

Also do you have a dynamic or static IP address?

http://prntscr.com/bbxy4b its static

OK, look for your IP here

DON'T post it here, instead go to the WAN section in your router and find if there's a range that starts at your IP

What do you mean that range thing I start with my ip and end with what?

hmm

looks like internet is already the correct one

the only things I can think of now are:

1) repalce the "wan host IP range" with 0 0 0 0

2) replace "wan host ip range" with your external IP (not the 198 one)

3) make sure you click apply

4) try restarting the router

Nitpicker router I guess

Start: 10.0.0.0

End: 223.255.255.255

Your friends' IP adresses should be well within that range, try it

not working should I restart my router

Yes, but don't forget to change the LAN address if it changes for your PC and always recheck your [WAN] IP adress when restarting so your friends don't try blindly, though that same site I linked before can test for open ports, you've to run the target application though.

http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

Also the router should accept that IP range, otherwise it might be skipping some

Thank you I will try that

So... did it work :P?

Also sorry for the late reply my friends ended up getting bored so I had to look for alternative ways of making a server like free hosting of minecraft servers but it started to lag after 6 of us got in :/

Could you post the settings of the .properties file?

Does jave have permissions in the firewall?

Depending on their ping tolerance you'd use hamachi, though all of them would have to install it, it's easy to set up

I don't think that'd be the issue, but it was once in one laptop I had so...

in server-ip write your server's LAN IP

default value is localhost IP, but it gave me problems sometimes

Also I don't recognize that list format... is that a notification list or router's? In windows' firewall it'd be setup like this:

The "public" "private" things in windows isn't for that, they're just network profiles for security reasons.

These profiles set a series of ports, protocols, etc... so you don't have to do it.

A "private" network should be the one chosen for your home, as you're probalby going to use things like home group, file sharing, etc...

The public profile is for less secure networks, as a mobile network (3G), "public Wi-Fi" (cafes, airports, hotels, etc)...

As you're probably using a "fixed" PC, select both for java. Why both? Well, the first time (just after you installed windows) you connected the PC to your router/network it'd have asked What type of network is it (Home, Work or Public), if you didn't choose anything chances are it's set as public so safe bet is to let java work on both profiles.

Problem is my port is still not working and I dont know why

That's why I aked for .properties and firewall... Because router's settings are correct, So I though about the server configuration.

Did you try setting private and public for java? Did you write in "server-ip" server's LAN IP?

One important thing to note if you're trying it yourself now is that if you're trying to connect to your own server is that you might not be able to connect through you OWN WAN IP to your server due to how MC works, you've to use the LAN IP, that's I sent that link to test ports before, but as said the server must be running

If any of these things don't work I can't think about any other issue.

BTW, here are images of how I tested it

AYNZB3C.png

4r2C3xX.png

If it reports that's Open and not Closed then chances are that, IF YOUR FRIENDS ARE NEW, they didn't set up the firewall for MC

 I can enter the server using my lan ip plus port 192.168.1.150:25565 but I cant enter with localhost also it the port checker says that my port isnt open!

Well, unless your ISP won't let you do it IDK what can be the issue

I'll summon users that might have better knowledge than me on this :P

@Ryan_Vickers

@Whaler_99

@Jade

@dalekphalm

I don't mind being pinged about stuff but you should do the people who you do ping a favor and tl;dr anything important outside of the OP. :)

DMZ functions in a way that you would no longer need to portforward to your machine running the server. Are you absolutely certain the machine you have running the server inside the network has the IP 192.168.1.2? Based on what you said in a more recent post, you can connect to it at 192.168.1.150, so that'd need to be your "LAN HOST IP".

Here's a poorly explaination of what I think should be in those fields.

  • "Name" - Minecraft, doesn't really matter
  • Protocol - TCP and UDP
  • WAN Connection - Internet VDSL
  • WAN Host IP Range - 0.0.0.0 - 0.0.0.0 if that works, if not, go to ip4.me and copy the IP from there, put it in both fields.
  • MAC Mapping - off
  • LAN Host IP - 192.168.1.150
  • WAN Port Range - 25565-25565
  • LAN Host Port Range - 25565-25565

Quote me when you reply, please, or I won't look again. @Sikelectrify
