PCIe Lanes

Good morning.

I am currently planning a Mini Itx build and a Problem came up.

How many PCIe lanes do I need for a GTX 1080, 6700K and a NVM M.2 SSD.

Is it enough if the chipset is supporting 1x16 (H170) lanes? Or do I need on with 2x8 (Z170) lanes (8 for the GPU and 4 for the SSD)?

Additional to that, what is the difference between a consumer and a business chipset?

I have no idea how lanes work or how the influence performance so please help me out.

6600K: 16 Lanes

H170: 16 extra lanes

Z170: extra 20 lanes

Any option is enough

As: GPU will take 16, M.2 PCI-e will take 4, you need a total of 20

Also as it's a mITX MB the PCI-e slot is going to be wired to CPU lanes and M.2 to chipset

Thanks a lot for the quick reply
