ripper101

So I just got a MSI GTX 980ti Lightning card and in the box it comes with an extra heat sink, does anyone know why?

I believe its for use when you want to use LN2 for extreme OCing.

Intel I9-9900k (5Ghz) Asus ROG Maximus XI Formula | Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4-4133mhz | ASUS ROG Strix 2080Ti | EVGA Supernova G2 1050w 80+Gold | Samsung 950 Pro M.2 (512GB) + (1TB) | Full EK custom water loop |IN-WIN S-Frame (No. 263/500)

Its meant to cool the VRM when you overclock the card with LN2.

Theory is when you know everything but nothing works. Practice is when everything works but you dont know why. In this computer, theory and practice are combined: Nothing works and i dont know why.

Atleast i can manage Some things, like my current OC personal best.

Perfectly valid question. You spent extra on an extreme overclocking card and you quite clearly are not doing extreme overclocking :P
