Matte vs glossy display

Which one is technically best? I'm talking about IPS displays and there won't be any sunlight behind me or anything, so I'm guessing the glossy one would be the nicest?

What do you think/prefer?

I find glossy annoying even when not in sunlight. People say glossy has better colour than matte but I've never noticed a difference. I vote matte.

Well I'm currently doubting between 2 monitors of exactly the same price, however one is glossy (Dell) and the other is matte (AOC). That's kinda why I made this topic.

Some people say that glossy will be sharper due to not having the anti-glare coating, but the reflections can be annoying even if there isn't any bright light behind you - you will see your own reflection like a mirror anytime the screen is dark

I'd go matte. Even if there's no direct light, if the screen goes dark (in a movie or game, for example) you're still going to see your reflection clearly. I found it very distracting.
