EVGA GTX 1080 Pricing

Unfortunately it seems that the EVGA custom designs aren't going to available today, and instead mid-June. This is either a supply issue, the cards weren't actually supposed to be available on launch (unlike what some people suspected), or NVIDIA / EVGA taking advantage of early adopters. Regardless of which, the custom designs will be available for less than Founder's Edition, which a few users have been claiming will be otherwise. Users through the EVGA Step-Up program, including myself, have revealed pricing on the individual cards, and are available to preorder the cards before release. One user noted that specialized cards aren't available through Step-Up, but the varying pricing makes me and other users think otherwise.

EVGA GTX 1080 SC (?) (single 8-pin) - $609

EVGA GTX 1080 (08G-P4-6181-KR) - $619

EVGA GTX 1080 FTW (?) (dual 8-pin) - $649

EVGA GTX 1080 Founders Edition - $699

Green indicates which one I've seen personally, and red indicates what other users are reporting. I can't find any info on the 6181 card, the only image available is the card from the front angle, so I don't know what the power connectors are on it. I would hope at least 8+6-pin, but it's hard to say.

The green ones are the official prices they quoted to you for the Step Up preorder? That's much better than what WCCF was reporting, that the ACX 3.0 cards will be $350 and the FTW $380.

It won't if they don't address the locked BIOS that limits voltage and the bare minimum power phase design!

I personally think there is too much voltage talk.  My experience, cooling is key.  My best scores with Maxwell were with stock to very mild voltage increases.  As long as I kept the cards in the 30's temp wise, they'd hold their boosted frequency all day long and held their own compared to some heavily voltage modded cards.

No, it's not officially launched so I don't think they'll be including it until then, or shortly after.

"NVIDIA and all the NVIDIA AiB Partners are pure evil and are deliberately fucking the consumer!"

That's the general mindset of people who say it. I mean, as I mentioned, it's very possible EVGA delayed the launch of their ACX 3.0 cards to take advantage of early adopters, but these cards will be out and cheaper if you don't mind waiting a bit.

I'd rather just get a EVGA or a MSI version over the reference one, honestly.

I don't get why people hop on the hype train so early with things like this.

I damn sure tried to, but they sold out before I got there.  I guess this is working out for the better after seeing what EVGA has coming.

Hmm premius parts?

What do you mean :D more fps?

No, more like a backplate and the metal shroud.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

no, I mean I don't understand the whole appeal of wanting to get a FE. I'd much rather want a quieter and better cooler over a $700 reference card, but that's just me.

To me, it seems the only reason people are getting the FE and reference design is because /it's new/

I didn't really care about the price difference, I just wanted the cards now because I have two EK water blocks sitting here waiting to go onto something.  :D

They are reference EK GTX 1080 water blocks.  I'm pretty sure they'll fit.

Well founders edition cost 790€ in EU, and that EVGA 3.0 thingy cost 760€.

I guess it's safe to say that price of GTX 1070 in EU will be above 500€, meaning it won't be in same price range as gtx 970 was :(

So I went around and corrected the info, the SC is $649. Pretty unfortunate compared to the competition already laid out, but granted most users who buy those cards won't take advantage of the reason they're better.

It's also pretty dumb when you compare the ACX 3.0 model and the SC model. Same card, but one is factory overclocked. Pretty heavily, but still.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

$350 was what WCCF was saying ACX 3.0 would go for. I'm definitely not going to buy an SC card this generation after seeing how lousy overclocking was on my 970 SC. Looks like it could be the same story this time around too, since they're using the weak reference pcb on the 1080 SC.
