Art 4 Games

sgtsmokey

Hello People,

Anyone know of any sites that sell sprites for games, Google search don't really bring up anything like what 3D has available (Unity Store)

I am 4 years into Education, 3 years Game Development, 1 year Computer Science and I am have two options on the table. I can neither create 3D models and animations myself and use Unreal or use Visual Studio and SDL to make a 2D cell shaded game. I don't plan on making this an over night project, but something I can do for a few months to a couple of years, figured I got all this education, but nothing more than whats been asked of me to show for it.

Some may say this isn't programming related, but I say it is because I can't be the only programmer that has game ideas and no art.

2d graphic, I've never checked it: http://www.supergameasset.com/

2d graphic and some other stuff, I've never checked it: https://www.scirra.com/store

Thanks for sharing! Those will come in handy if I ever want to use something other than crappy 8-bit stuff I make myself.

If you're looking for sprites/3d models to use while testing/prototyping, check out Kenney assets. They are like 10$ and you get a sh*t ton of them, plus they are CC0 (public domain), so you can leave some in your game after release, if they look good!

I use them while testing new stuff in my games, so I dont waste time drawing ugly paint sketches.

Heres where I got them: https://kenney.itch.io/

oh and most of them are availible for free on http://opengameart.org/

  • 4 weeks later...

Thanks people, I have just book marked all of these. This is my first time signing in here since I made the post.

At the end of this I expect to make a game for release, preferably mobile platform. That way in 3 yeas when I graduate I will have a game and a few apps under a publisher name on an app store. So when I am applying for a programming position, I can point them to actual games/apps I have created.

I can draw and I can create 3D models myself, but an entire game is a ridiculous amount of work for one person, so I want to buy them with a commercial licence.
