This Is My New Sig Rig In Progress, Code Name: 'Midas"

This is not a finished product, it's a work in progress. I will keep updating the build (and you) as I go along. I will be updating/adding and taking pictures along the way, so keep a look out for the finished product. I will post new pics each time I update until Midas is complete.

These are my two new editions:

I plan on doing a lot of modding, including: Case modding, sleeving, and adding gold accents.

Ideas and Goals for my build include:

- Gold and Black sleeving

- Gold accents to both the Case and GPU's

- Watercooling (Have everything but fitting, it will take a while to get the fittings I need)

- The EK Gold Waterblock (Possibility- depending on how many they make and if I can get my hands on one)

- Getting a new case (currently going to use the Half XM till I decide which case I want) Edit: Going with the Phanteks Phanteks Enthoo Primo Case

- Not sure about the 3 7950's. I know for a fact I'm keeping the 2 XFX ones, not sure about keeping the Sapphire ( might give to the wife).

- White LED's

- New Bitfenix fans replacing the old ones with black ones which I'll be accenting with gold.

- Case modding, but after i get the case I decide. I will not be doing any modding to the Half XM.

Here is a pic of the Motherboard, CPU, and the 3 GPU's:

I also will be making a Member Review on the ASUS X79 Motherboard, so keep a look out for the thread, if you are interested in that motherboard.

This Is My New Sig Rig

Do you even know what games look like non-maxed?

Though it makes me wonder how an overclocked SBE chip handles Physx since Nvidia makes sure it sucks.

Still going with paracord?

LOL, unfortunately yes I am still going with the paracord ( main reason is that paracord has tons of gold to chose from, which means it will be easier to match the gold on the motherboard. Otherwise I would have gone with MDPC Sleeving

To be honest with you, I actually do not know what all of the games to date look not maxed out. So far the 3 7950's have been able to max out every game on the market

You are not alone about that ;)

Awesome builds but why didn't you go dual 7970s instead of tri 7950s? I am guessing it would be more stable and be equal in performance...

Well it looks like he bought them at different times but no, dual 7970's wouldn't even touch tri 7950's in a game that scales well.

I bought me first 7950 when they first came out, so that one was $519.99 and the 7970's were around $700. When I got the 7950 i decide might as well see how far I can push it and to my surprise, it overclocked extremely well, 1200 on the core clock and 1725 on the memory clock, so about 5 month s after I bought the first one I went ahead on bought the second XFX 7950. that one over clocks to 1200 on the core clock and 1645 on the memory clock. The reason I bought the 3rd on to start off with was because everyone on the web said that the sapphire card overclocked really good and it was a lot quieter then the XFX cards. They were right about one thing, Damn is the Sapphire card silent  but overclocking wise, it was a disappointment, only being able to overclock to 1200 on the core clock and 1525 on the memory clock.

You are right about scaling on 3 7950's I seen no performance boost what so ever in gaming, I do see it in benchmarks. So do I personally recommend tri Crossfire? not at all. For me now it is just the wow factor in my case having 3 of them, but it is not at all worth it for performance.

I have not quit figured out what modding I want to do, as i havenot found the exact case I want the finish build to be in yet, I have my eye so far either on the 900D or the coolermaster stacker, which comes out oct 19th. The sleeving color scheme is going to be black and gold, I will start sleeving the entire PSU at the end of next week or the begaining of the fallowing week.

They are coming :D but bare with me, as i am trying to make this the most exspinve build I have done. I am shooting for over $10,000, just on the buld it's self ( no peripherals). Most of the build longs will start after the holidays as my kids want alot of gifts for Xmas LOL, but I for sure will be starting on the sleeving in the next couple of weeks and start posting pics of that as soon as I get some progress in.

Sounds like coolermasters case is exactly right then, you can just keep adding, but you totally should use the stacking case, it's brand new so your puter will be unique!

I agree, but my wife thinks that i should hold off on getting that case. She thinks a year after that case comes out they will make a reversion of the case that will be better. Honestly I want it now, so I'm not quit sure if i will be getting it or not. If not ,then more then likely i will be getting the 900D case. I will be waiting tel the Coolermaster case comes out before I make my decision on which case i will be going with.

Yeah, the Cooler Master case looks nice, but waiting to see a couple of reviews and may be even an other system built into it before purchasing it just to make sure that it is exactly what I want. On the other hand the 900D is a also a good looking, very rich of features case, except all of those tiny holes on the back side of it, which would make positive air pressure in the case a nightmare.
