Who Still Uses A Below 1080p Monitor

Recommended Posts

1600x900 is still very good option for lower end setups. When I had 270x, I had to lower my resolution from 1080p to 900p in games like Witcher 3 to get 55-60 FPS instead of mid 40s on any sensible settings. I think there is no point on getting 1080p monitor if you have GPU like 270x or GTX 950 or lower, and you plan to play new games. You will struggle to get sensible performance and will have to set your settings really low, just to get few more pixels, image quality difference between 900p and 1080p is not big, especially for smaller monitors. If my younger brother gets his first PC this year, I will surely get him 900p monitor instead of 1080p, there is no point to kill performance or use lower settings just for few pixels.
