Have 2 Petabytes of local storage - Do I need to answer?

My worry would be the hard drive failures constantly with so many drives xD

I do wonder however.. How well that would work if everything was in RAID 0 O.o

Going to run some quick math here just to see how much that would cost in drives alone.

The largest consumer drive (by seagate at least) is the 4tb barracuda(on 3.62tb can be used of that *Which is stupid). with 2048 terabytes in 2 petabytes. So needing 566 4tb(3.62tb) drives which are 169.99USD on Amazon AND they qualify for FREE shipping! :D

... that's a running total of 96,214.34USD for the drives not even counting percentage of DOA products, raid controllers that support that many, power.. and such.. wow.. I think i'd wait a few years till sizes go up and prices come down.. a lot O.o

I wish you the best of luck!

-Tony

5 minutes? Talk faster lol. It takes about a minute to talk about my specs. Then again,. most people who ask don't care about the majority of the parts listed.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

that's a nice list you have there, my bucket list for this summer is to get a second r9 290 to crossfire with the one that's on it's way (because SOMEBODY broke my second sapphire radeon HD 6950 2GB and refuses to replace it because that person refuses to believe he's the one who broke it) so i have a brand new GPU on it's way, and i want to water-cool them

now, my 2 sapphires would make my room 95F on a regular basses, so i can only guess what these 290s will be doing so i will actually water-cool everything, then send the water downstairs in the basement to a quad 140mm radiator (which it's always cold down there so it will be very welcome) and cool it there, making my life a lot cooler.  :D
