Fire Emblem Awakening DLC question

I have had Fire Emblem Awakening for a while now and I just bought the first DLC which was Champions of Yore 1. I got Marth as a character and was going to have him have conversations with other characters. When I try to do this however Marth is grey and he can't. So is it impossible for Marth to have conversations with other characters?

Correct. The DLC/card characters are outside of the main story, and won't have support conversations. Also I do recommend you look into buying the packs as opposed to each mission on it's own. Overall they're all worth it, and buying "in bulk" in this case will come out slightly cheaper.

Well I just bought it with the money I had left which was about $2.50.
