I predict it will be close since the NDA is up so early (next Tuesday). Otherwise why give the internet 10 days to shit on your claims before launch if the reviews don't match the numbers presented in the launch event?

This is really hard to answer without the crystal ball.

Give me like 2 hours then I'm off work then I can go home and ask it.

Although the circumstances lead to brief conclusions upon relatively high expectations, the current consensus provides the regulated and precise instruction to await further elaboration of specific performance relative to previous candidates.

It's not like we have more information than you do. Just wait 6 days and you'll find out, same time as the rest of us. It's not that long of a wait.

Anticipation is the best thing about all these new products.

Plus is fun to speculate.

They say +100% performance (or 2x), but it's accepted that it's really going to be +25% (or 1.25x)

The increase in performance per watt is said to be +200% (or 3x) when it's skeptically calculated to be about +70% (or 1.7x).

They say it will draw little bit more power than its predecessor with only one 8 pin connector.

Im guessing, 70fps on The Witcher 3 at ultra settings (All settings wont be checked tough and quality tricks will still be required, unlike what Jen claims) in 4K, might be a possibility for the 1080 :p. Hopefully its ready to handle sandbox games like No Mans Sky and dense strategy games like Halo Wars 2. If there is one thing tough, games at 1080p, should definetly be maxed out and almost always be 60fps+, whereas in 1440p, maybe just shadows and multisampling will have to be toned down.

It will be interesting to see if amd can compete with this they are already  behind in benchmarks.

I don't think any can reasonably expect that. It's pretty easy to call that claim bullshit when they're talking about a 20-25% improvement over Titan X earlier in the presentation.

Gotcha.

As far as we know (speculation) the highest tier Polaris 10 card could rival the 1070, but when Vega drops with that sexy HBM2 AMD will likely take the crown... Possibly only until Nvidia then drops the 1080ti. And on the leap-frog goes :)

Not sure I understand your erasure. Perhaps you didn't understand the sarcasm of my post?

I've not seen any 3rd party benchmarks for the 1080, haven't looked either.  If there's credible ones out there comparing it to 300s I'd look at them.

Guessing I probably lost context of xgn's statement somewhere? */me is tired*

I asked my crystal ball.

There is one thread on here about leaked 1080 benchmark on Ashes. Turn out 1080 is about 10-12% faster than 980Ti. So, NVidia claims are pretty far off truth...

Assuming that benchmark is legit, of course lol

how far away? do you have any other hobbies other than f5 bombing the geforce site?

nvidia releases a new card like every five months so they can reel in more buyers. i really don't know how you get "bored" of waiting for new nvidia cards lmao.
