tv Need help picking a good TV for around $500

Hey I need some help trying to find the best tv i could get for $500, I am looking for something around 50* that has good colors for watching movies, but is also good for playing games.

 

I have had my eye on 2 different TV's one of them is a 1080p 48 inch and the other is a 4k 50 inch but I would like to know how good the colors are on them and if the colors are not that much worse on the 4k if I should just get that one instead.  I would also like to know if any of you have any experience with the smart TV's from Samsung and VIZIO and if they actually have pretty good menus so I don't have to use my chrome-cast.  If any of you know any better options for the price let me know.

I'd get the 4k tv because 4k looks way better and there is alot of stuff coming out with 4k support

A lot of that is going to depend on the panel, check them out yourself in store, mess with the settings, turn off demo mode, and check the AVSForums, they have people who will use the professional tools and review most mainstream models.
