The PSU is mediocre quality at best, the NEX series aren't good. I'd recommend the G2 series instead.

If you ask me, I'd opt for a cheaper cooler and go for a GTX 980Ti instead.

"Youtube gaming channel" is pretty general. I assume you really meant to ask "Can I record and edit games with this computer?"

Yes, it will do great, especially at 1080p 60 fps.

Like HKZeroFive, I'd recommend a better PSU (like the G2 series from EVGA) and a GTX 980 ti over the 980

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

I would use a 980ti but I won't be doing any 4k anytime soon

We're about 2 weeks away from new GPU releases. Those'll give you better bang for buck. Don't get a 980 right now.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

Not really. Get a less expensive air cooler and you easily afford a GTX 980Ti.

Get a better PSU like the EVGA GQ GS or G2

Also

R9 Nano > GTX 980

R9 Fury > GTX 980

Both perform slightly better and can handle higher resolutions if you ever plan on getting a 1440p monitor, unless AMD will continue to update drivers for these cards for a long time.

Obviously replace 980 with 1080 (likely from Zotac or EVGA for color purposes) when that comes out.

Also DDR4 speed on Haswell-E DOES NOT MATTER as long as you have 4 dimms, (bandwidth of quad channel is insane).
