A decent laptop around $1000?

Go to solution Solved by don_svetlio,

Lenovo Y700
MSI GE62
Asus G552VW
Dell Inspiron 7559

In that order

I need a laptop that could do video editing on the go like Adobe Premiere Pro and also do some gaming, plus I want it to be easy to travel nothing like a heavy brick.

i just bought a refurb dell xps 15 for 1,069 on ebay (theres tons of the refurbs out there right now). its got a skylake i5, 8gb ddr4, gtx960m, and one of the best monitors ive personally seen. 4k and touchscreen. its definitly worth a look. Generally its around 2000. very premium feel.

not to mention that the xps is a 15 inch laptop pretty much the size of a 13 because of the infiniti display and its light. i love it. model code is actually xps 9550

If you have the black screen issue with the Lenovo, a common one, then just flash the bios to the latest version.  That's the true fix.

Yeah I hear that was occurring issue, I am gonna go with the Lenovo when I enough money for it next month.

I didn't have black screens on mine but flashed BIOS V3 anyway - no issues
