i7-6700k 4.2 GHz/1.350 V, 92 degrees Max during RealBench, what should I do?

1 hour ago, RGT said:

Done.

Photos below, I took 2:

Question:

1. Why the temps on Max are still high?

2. Where is the Turbo Speed (4200 MHz), the processor kept  4020MHz all the time.

Much better voltage and those temps are not too high.

Well, is not hot, I have a fan installed on the roof of my room at full speed. The thing is that my room is not hot at all, it's normal. I don't have any tool to measure it.

If you had to guess, what would that guess be?

I'll say 30 degrees. 25 Minimum.

You see ambient room temp and what people consider hot or not hot is completely subjective.  If you room is 25c then you're still running your computer in a room 3c higher than mine.  If you're closer to 30c, it's 8c higher than mine.  Those differences directly impact the operating temperatures of your CPU, GPU and everything else in that computer.

This is why I suggest that you don't bother comparing temps to other people's.

Exactly.  That room temp isn't warm to him, but it damn sure is to me.  I usually stay in a 20c to 22c window.

So, what should I do with my system?.

If I enable XMP, temps goes up.

If I overclock my CPU temps goes up to 90

Then, what t***** k* :(

Should I forget about OC then?.

What I need to do here?, yes or no?.

I think that I need to enable that to get my RAM work correctly at 3200mhz.

But, if I enabled that, you saw what happened, high temps.

when your temps were 90 you were running 1.350 voltage

Now your running 1.264 so i think there is room for some overclocking.

Look bud, the bottom line is that your ambient room temps are indeed higher than that of most folks.  That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not helping your CPU temps at all!!!

Yes you can overclock, but you need to be very realistic about the fact that your going to have higher temperatures in a hotter room.  There's nothing you or anyone here can do about that.  Of course you can overcome the temp issues by upgrading to a larger cooling system, but you have to remember that the lowest your water temps can ever get in a 30c room, is 30c.  That means no matter how many radiators and fans you install, you'll always start with a water temp of 30c if your room is 30c.

What upgrading your water cooling could do is lower the delta between your idle water temps and your peaks, but it can't change the temperature of the room.

Understood.

Should I try 4.5GHz then?.

How many Volt should I add for it?.

and what about this warning?

Great, with lower expectations in mind, let's get you dialed in now.  Click yes.

So

Add as little voltage as you can while still maintaining stability. Not sure in what order Voltage or clock, i just fiddled with mine til it worked

I would enable XMP yes!

Let's get you to the lowest voltage you can run at 4.5 GHz.

Set your voltage at 1.3v and CPU only (NOT CACHE) to 4.5 via syncing of all cores.

Download Cinebench R15 here.

In my case its machining. mainly CNC milling, and mondays are never fun :D

That sounds like a fun career.  Something I'd be into!

I think @RGT got locked out of his computer.

No at your current 4.5 GHz at 1.3v.  Run the CPU test (all cores, not single) for 4 to 5 times.

If it doesn't crash, you're going back into BIOS and dropping it to 1.29v.
