i7-6700k 4.2 GHz/1.350 V, 92 degrees Max during RealBench, what should I do?

Hi,

i7-6700k 4.2 GHz/1.350

Asus Z170i Pro Gaming

16GB 2x6GB 3200MHz

H100i v2

I'm using Asus RealBench to Stress the CPU, I have heard that the CPU temperature should be under 80 degrees, but my CPU goes up to 92 degrees.

What should I do?.

This is normal during stress test or what?, I'm scared.

See photo attached of the temps after the Stress Test.

first i would find out if the problem is the cpu or the cpu cooler, if you have the stock cooler attach that and see if you get reasonable temps

I don't have any other cpu cooler, remember that the K version came without a cooler.

What is the temperature running at stock clock and voltage?

Look at the temps at stock speed idle and when I'm playing GTA V at stock speed too.

I did this:

  1. CPU Core/Cache Voltage from Auto to Manual Mode.
  2. Core Ratio Limit > 46
  3. CPU Core Voltage Override > 1.350

Is your watercooler working properly?

Yeah.

The Pump is dead silent and the fans are working good.

The only noise that I can hear is from the fans at full speed.

So, yeah, my unit is good I think.

What is the temperature when you change the cpu voltage to auto?

  1. CPU Core/Cache Voltage > Auto
  2. Core Ratio Limit > 46

See photo of the temps attached.

be carefull if you set cpu voltage to auto with that multiplier, mine spiked to more than 1.5 volt :o

I did it right now just to see what are the temps.

I don't know what to do with this processor.

My unit is defective or my processor can not handle 4.6 ghz

:(

Before you fix them temp problem i wouldn't  touch the voltage anymore

Is there any way you can verify the pump speed?  dead silent i don't like.

First keep your default setting

When the system is completely cooled down

Turn off the fans and boot into bios feel if the pump is vibrating. or making any noise.

just remember to plug them back in
