iMessage Deregister Phone Number

I used to have an iPhone and I just switched to a galaxy s7 and had some messaging problems.  On Apple's website https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage I have an option of turning off iMessage on old iPhone or I can receive a text on my new phone.  

If I do the receive a text on my new phone will it be reversible? Like if I ever get a iphone again will linking my phone number to iMessage be the same?

once you put the sim back into an iphone it will register.

If i get a new iphone it will automatic reregister my phone number right? There wont be any issues?
