Does your gpu stink after spray paint?

Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

Paints contain some chemicals that keep them liquid until it comes in contact with oxygen usually. As the paint cures, those chemicals vaporize out and it's technically those chemicals that stink, not the paint. Fully cured paint won't stink. Well, some paints do because they can have other chemicals to prevent corrosion and whatnot.

The paint manufacturers can't know what surface exactly you're painting. So they can't really mix in the correct adhesive compounds for just any materials. Primer acts as an adhesive and cover. It's used to create an uniform surface that any paint will adhere on, will be smooth and will cover the variance in colors underneath it. You can get a decent surface without primer by just applying coat over coat of simple paint but you risk the first coat not adhering to the surface which would make the paint peel off.

Does you GPU stink if you paint the I/O panel and the cooler (Plastic parts)?

Do you have to find some special paint to make sure, it can take the heat and doesn't melt off?

Do you always need a primer before the paint? or can you just spray add paint ?

Well I haven't painted anything, just asking prior to thinking about it even :D
So if the smell goes away after a few days, it's fine. But if it keeps smelling like paint in the room, it's not so fine.
