Was Searching a way to Fix "Getting Windows Ready" Issue. I know this thread is quite old. But it comes on the first page when anyone searches for the same issue. And I got a perfect solution for this problem, That's why sharing.

Two things you can do to Fix "getting windows ready" error. 
First - Just wait for the update to get completed. Because Microsoft security update takes almost 1-2 hour to get complete. 
Second - If the screen is stuck on Windows Getting Ready and processing dots animation also stuck then hard turn off your laptop by pressing the power key. 
And if after doing all things if your screen shows same error (Getting Windows Ready) then perform a clean windows installation. Or you can reset windows if u know how to do it.
