Microphone at the side

Does the Dynamic microphones always needs to be infront of you and close to your mount?

What if example while not singing or recording serious you put it away from you by 10/12inches and by away i mean on your left or right side. [With stand]

Will it sound terribly or its still fine?

The mic needs more amplification -> picks up more ambient noise. Depends on what you class as terrible :P (sound quality depends on your amp, cable, mic etc.)

it will sound fine

the only thing is that you will need to turn up the gain a little and it will pick up more background noise

but 12" is still really close, so thats ok

For microphone i will go with something from those three:

•  Shure SM58 LC

•  Shure SH55 Series II

•  RØDE Procaster

For Interface i think of going  Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 45Euro or Scarlett Solo 100Euro

or mixer Alesis MultiMix 4 Four-Channel USB 80Euro

While singing it will be in front of me really close if needed, but while doing other stuff like gaming, skype basically chilling around i plan putting it on left or right side and dont speak directly to it.
