Might as well get 2 cards like 2x 980s to compare games on 1 and 2 cards.

and a larger ssd so you can store current projects

really feel like we need to start requiring validation of these builds

All i did was replace the CPU and Mobo, if you can spare the extra money. And as @Starelementpoke said, wait till Pascal/Polaris. Also, wait till Broadwell-E for the CPU.

I don't see anything wrong with it, but a Titan X seems a little overkill for a 6700k...you could probably just go with a 980 Ti. If you want as much gpu performance as possible from a single card I suppose it makes sense.

Upgrading to x99 would cause a significant price jump, so I would probably just stick with the 6700k and get one 980 Ti. If for some reason you need more power, you can throw another one in later on.

You won't have to wait too long:

OC3D has stated that it will come early-mid June

i never recommend SLI unless you really crave for more gpu horsepower even after you got the best card in the market `-`

i dont recommend getting maxwell cards

their DX12 performance is questionable compared to AMD's current gen gpu
