TP-LINK Archer T9E Windows 10 Issue

My TP-LINK Archer T9E cannot be recognised with Windows 10. And whenever I try to install the driver I get the following error in the image.

The Wireless card lights are on, and it is showing up as unknown device in the other section of device manager.

I have tried:

  • Unplugging/replugging
  • Disabling driver signing enforcement
  • Disabling all other NIC

Just wondering if any of you guys out there have this card with Windows 10 and could shed some light on how to get it to install the Windows 10 driver?

Have you tried installing the drivers yourself/from the internet? It may be the device came with the wrong or bad drivers for windows 10

Yes, the error I am getting is with that driver. The drivers that come on the disc are not compatible with Windows 10.

have you tried reverting to win7?

no, jk, some drivers have a compatibility install mode, did you try it or just the click and install?

For anyone interested, the drivers TP-Link sent me direct corrupt my Windows 10 OS.

This card is not compatible with Windows 10 (even though they say it is)

Maybe it is your motherboard

Nope the motherboard recognises it is an other device, Windows 10 does not interpret it as a network adapter. It even powers on too.

That doesn't mean that the problem is on the OS's side.

Multiple people have had the same issue, I smell dodgy TP-Link drivers.

  • 1 year later...

I realize this thread is quite old but sought to help those in my position.

I found that Win 10 will not recognize the wifi adapter if it is plugged into a PCIE x1 slot, try using an x16 slot (or x4 if your motherboard supports it). I am using an Asrock Z97 motherboard, so I think the issue would have something to do with Asrock and not windows 10.

Hope this helps :)

Okay,

to clarify this issue from my experience I agree with the facts that this issue is not a result of a bad mother board, Ram, Processor or any other piece of hardware. This issue is directly related to the windows updates for Windows 10. After the Windows update of OS Build of 14393.2007 the AC1900 T9E wireless broodcom driver will not work. This is because its not compatible with any version after the OS build I listed. As soon as I was forced to update the driver stopped working. However I did create a restore point where I was able to rollback and verify that the OS build of windows is directly responsible for the driver not working. What needs to be done is TP-Link needs to create a compatible driver for OS builds after 14393.2007. As far as I can see there is no real way to bypass this problem with windows pushing the Windows 10 Assistant. The only available solutions are to roll back to windows 7 or to get a new wireless card because Windows has  taken away the ability to choose what updates you would like.

That is not true. It is working flawlessly!
