is there any os that 2 GB ram and single core cpu to can?

I have a old pc that 2 GB ram and single core CPU no gpu but I can't find any operating system that can all the specs to operating systems that I have tried such as (free4nas, lubuntu, xubuntu, freenas 9.2.19 and freenas 9.10) do you guys have an operating system?

Ubuntu, Debian, Slackware, etc., Linux should run.  Whether that's enough machine to do anything worthwhile anymore or even run a modern browser may very well be entirely questionable.

i  have lubuntu running on an old pc with a single core (Athlon 64 3700+) and 1Gb of DDR3 ram, and its running fine. IIRC, the 32bit version only requires 256Mb of ram

I would say Debian is perfect. It is supported by pretty much all software compatible with Linux and it is very reliable. If you ever have a problem, there will be the most support for Debian and while many people do not consider it a lightweight operating system, I have never had any performance issues even when installing it on very old computers.

I'm a blogger, student, and developer. I love re-purposing old hardware such as PCs, routers, and phones.
