I originally had a poll on if you had a car older than 10 years or not but I realized not many have cars.

I'm trying to collect statistics for a math class and I went with an easy yes or no question. I personally have a window, my previous case didn't however.

Thank you for those who participated. :)

I regret not getting a case with slots for a cd reader and whatnot. It's still fairly useful.

Yes, but I wish it didn't. Here's how my planning usually goes

1) I really like nice looking rigs

2) Let me get a windowed case to have nice looking cables and components, prestine PC

3) Ok I need to save more for water cooling parts, also you can see some dust now I should probably clean it

4) There's more visible dust, I must get around to clean this

5) Fucking dust eveywhere inside this bitch. Just a few more hours of gaming and videos

6) Ok it's finally the fucking weekend and my temps are a couple of degrees higher now due to dust, I don't want fans to die I'll just fucking clean it now

After 6) I just cannot be fucking be bothered to even THINK about maintaining a good looking system, my next case will probably be something like a windowless Phanteks or Fractal Define.

Same here with the dust. I have the S340, It's a nice looking case but the dust is annoying. Sometimes I'll see hair in there too. My one regret is getting white; the white looks nice from the top because it has a black top which enhances the contrast but when you're chair level looking at it, it's all plain white.

Here's another thing they don't tell you about having nice cases: tiny hands help a lot. My huge fucking mitts have a hard time getting shit just inside the case and bolted on, let alone with nice cable arrangements.

My brother got a Mercury S3 with a windowed side panel, and he immediately regretted it after putting the machine together because his GPU was suffocating.

My case has a window, but the case has such a terrible airflow that putting the side panel on causes everything inside to overheat.

For €10 it's a nice case.... But it sucks and I don't feel like buying better fans.

For the people who are just as lazy as me and don't feel like looking at my profile:

I have a Sharkoon VS4-W

No window here.

I bought my case according to where it'd be, inside a desk with a closed, frosted, glass door. So a side panel window was entirely useless for me.
But, even if it wasn't inside my desk, I wouldn't want a case with a window. I don't care to look inside my PC, I know what's in there, I don't need others to know as well. Also, I have a strong dislike for LEDs, and motherboards tend to have a few on them that I cannot just rip out or close, so yeah.

Why do you hate LEDs?

I mean, putting lights on everything can get pretty obnoxious, but it's nice to have accent lighting and stuff.

... Of course, my machine is sort of the worst example of "accent lighting". My motherboard has glowing red traces around the audio components, my CPU block and top fan (the only non-Noctua fan) are blue, and my GPU's logo is yellow. But, for people who exercise a little more control over their lighting, I think it can actually look pretty cool~

Oh, and I also don't understand your aversion to windows. The point isn't to see what's inside your case, it's to see how cool it looks.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I hate LEDs because they prevent me from sleeping at night, they are bright and annoying in my room when the lights are closed and I'm trying to sleep, I literally cannot leave my PC open during the night if there's a bunch of LEDs on it, I need total darkness.

They are also distraction in my peripheral vision when I try to concentrate on something(This was my main reason for getting a desk where I could just shove the PC into and never see it again.). If you're not that easily distracted, that's great! But I'm easily distracted. I see a LED light flashing on the side and I'm automatically looking at it.

My aversion to side panel window is mostly just because of LEDs, if I could have a motherboard that has zero LED on it, I wouldn't mind it that much. I also believe the "cool" factor of looking inside my PC would dissipate after a while(especially considering I don't upgrade every year or two), but between looking inside and just looking at a plain side panel, I'd probably get a window.... If there weren't any LEDs.

That's why you put the LEDs behind things or off the side, so they don't directly shine at you.

A lot of older or cheaper motherboards don't take that into consideration, but it seems people are getting better at it now.
