Refurbished Xeon available on cheap but are they worth it

Hallo,

ebay india has quite a few refurbished xeons available. I want to build a cheap home nas. are refurbished xeons worth buying. Basically I want to know what are refurbished xeons?

I have heard of refurbished iphone, computers, gaming consoles, but , what the heck is a refurbished xeon??

Since processors din't usually fail, a refurbished xeon should be fine.

I think they just clean it up and stuff and test it. It should be fine.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet refurbished xeon just means they took it from a refurbished computer or out of any computer and cleaned off the thermal paste or maybe straightened a pin. 

 

With a cpu Its gonna be pass/fail, either it will work fine or not at all, assuming they say it works then you should be fine. Its worth it if its cheap for the xeon and you need it.
