closed not much of a bug, issue with spam

welp, I can't tell you its a bad idea. but I will let you see for yurselves
I can spam the front page of the forum. not in a big way. but with status updates

aka this : 




now. there is a common thing around the forum that nobody needs to see or hear someone talking about what they got for christmas in a post without any subject of discussion, wich is solved by status updates.

the thing is. the point of it is to not have them in our face when were browsing the forum. not to have them on the main page of the forum. (im sorry but that makes no sense)

why not try to fix the css of the forum instead in the first place before adding features that are (imo) kinda against the principle of status updates

it seems fine to me imo, its out of sight for most people since the majority of us doesnt even scroll that far down

and its on the side, not slapped in the middle

besides, there arent any major bugs in the forum that are really affecting the forum's usability (atleast i didnt find any while im here)

most bugs i saw was minor bugs that doesnt even matter to most people

the beta of the forum was so much better. I can't show you since they brought down the site. but it didn't have random things like the logo being far off
the navs breaking (not in a good way) design rules.
the "show more" part of the signature not being the right height.

many alignement problems with boxes, stuff that is easely fixable (hell I gave them the code for it)

but its still not fixed. and it kind of annoys me

It's not a feature of the forum that is broken - that user is simply spamming, simple as that. It is no different to if you went and created half a dozen threads that would all show up in the Recent Threads section.

Theme issues are handled completely independently of adding things like blocks to the forum index, and doing one will not take away from the time available to do the other at all - one is done by developers, the other by administrators.

 

We can't fix bugs that you don't report*, so if you have found bugs, report them, rather than just complaining that it hasn't been fixed.

 

*under certain circumstances, bugs get found anyway, but that is no excuse for not reporting them.
