I would like to own a VR headset that can play 3D movies and I wonder if Oculus Rift can be used as a personal home theater. That is to say, if Oculus Rift can display both left-right and up-down formatted movies content. I use MPC-HC to play both video and audio stream. I also wonder if playing 3D enabled movies requires any special software.

i guess in theory if your 3D movie is split the same way as 3D glasses (which afaik usually it is) i wouldnt see why not.

Sorry little late but no one seem to have said it, look for "virtual desktop" on Steam for $15.00 or Youtube
