The LP should be placed further right than the Republicans. Remember: Coporate subsidies are anti free market, and thus should place a party with them further "left" (and also authoritarian)

Republican (and Democrat, but we'll leave them out for now) politicians have acted in favor of a lot corporatist policies for a while now. Subsidies and Regulations (especially those that act to limit competition) are anti free market which is anti right axis. The LP favors deregulation of the market,  as well as an end to corporate subsidies.

Edit: The isidewith graph has different axises than the others,  which would explain why the LP is technically further left on the graph.

The isidewith graph is far worse than the other one. it goes with this horrible idea that all/most leftists are "authoritarian," and right wingers are always "libertarian" or just slightly "authoritarian" lol.

Generally on a Tech forum you will find the majority of people are Left Libertarians.

eh, i don't exactly take too literal the whole "authoritarian"/"libertarian" binary. and i'd say the libertarian party is far more right than that lol.

eh, anarchism (at least an-communism/syndicalism) aren't bad. in fact, there was a companion chart that listed some "ideologies" (it was a sloppy chart, as is the test itself) that had anarcho-communism & anarcho-syndicalism around where @PurpleDido was placed. so i'm wondering what they think about anarchism/libertarian socialism =0

Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

That's what I got.  (Hopefully it shows properly...)

I kinda thought I'd lean more heavily toward Libertarian, and slightly to the right.

Here's what I got. I was surprised by how libertarian I was, but being that far left was expected.

The isidewith graph seems skewed to favor American Libertarians, in that collectivism (extreme left) is another form of authoritarian.

Not really.. Liberals aren't considered that de-authoritarian. More Civil Libertarian-ism to Democratic Socialism here.

It's fundamentally flawed, Libertarian-ism is not a polar opposite of Authoritarianism. It should be pro Authoritarian and anti.

Personal Liberty uber alles! :)

Sadly in my country my viewpoint is pretty much non-represented. I have always voted SNP but they are slowly slipping more and more authoritarian. Have always considered voting Lib Dem but voting for them is essentially a wasted vote since they buddied up with the tories.

That depends on how you define ´libertarianism´.

The most common definition is the anglo-American definition, where ´libertarian´ referes to a person that believes in a limited government in both social and financial areas (best examples would be writters like Ayn Rand and Robert Nozick).

However, in the Continental European school of libertarianism the government (or the collective) is seen as the tool that should ensure the social freedom of the individual (examples would be writters like Mikhail Bakunin and Pierre-Joseph Proudhon).

Both schools have one thing in common: They both consern themself with the freedom of the individual.

Where they differe is on how people best achieve their freedom, and in the end it also boils down to how the two schools see systems of oppression.

I think what I'm getting at is this: The chart, while flawed in the way it's build, is not flawed in the way it names it axes.

Authoritarianism is most commonly used to describe systems where individual freedoms are given up to ensure order and uniformity (see Shōwa period Japan or the Weimar Republic as examples).

Both the anglo-American school of liberarianism and the Continetal European school of liberarianism would oppose such a system.

There it is fitting that "Libertarian" is used as an axis on the chart. While pro - and anti-authoritarian would still work, it also wouldn't be as well fitting in the modern political discourse.

I'm genuinely surprised. I'm not "Liberal" as it says I am on that chart somebody posted on page 1, I'd say I'm more right-leaning. A libertarian. I hate liberals, or more what they're doing to the Western society.

I used to be quite active here.
