Republican (and Democrat, but we'll leave them out for now) politicians have acted in favor of a lot corporatist policies for a while now. Subsidies and Regulations (especially those that act to limit competition) are anti free market which is anti right axis. The LP favors deregulation of the market,  as well as an end to corporate subsidies. 

 

Edit: The isidewith graph has different axises than the others,  which would explain why the LP is technically further left on the graph.

 

 

The isidewith graph is far worse than the other one. it goes with this horrible idea that all/most leftists are "authoritarian," and right wingers are always "libertarian" or just slightly "authoritarian" lol.

I couldn't take the test seriously with the first few questions it throws at you.

The first page is really dumb, as in the 3rd iirc... It gets a bit better. Has some dumb ones mixed in the rest of it as well. Still better than most of these tests though. Most of them are as bad as the first page throughout the whole test.

Reading the questions I could not even finish the test. I just don't care or have an opinion on any of those things.

But some of the questions are pretty vague and I don't feel like any of the options really reflect my opinion. Surprised by the amount of left-leaning people, especially since most are american and here I end up pretty far right and I'm from the socialist utopia of Norther Europe.

The top/bottom/left/right are generalizations.  More or less so that adjective the closer to its edge.  The blue bubbles are where this version of the quiz places the actual political parties by name.  The libertarian party is, in truth a SLIGHTLY right of center ideology.  Also, this version puts the Republican party only just a bit more Libertarian in nature than Authoritarian, which is also accurate.

Not surprised to be in lower half, but am surprised to be slightly on the left side.

 

Interesting to see, scrolling through the posts, most seem to be in lower half more to the left, yet the major political organisations of US/UK are located in upper half, and more to the right. Is that why I hate them all? Visitors here probably wont be representative of the population as a whole but there seems to be a gap there. At a high level view, government has always been about control, so I guess it isn't that surprising they would lean towards the upper half.
