Help me decide what to build

I have been into PC Gaming since 2012. I built one in 2012, upgraded it for 2013, gave it to my cousin, and we upgraded it (together) for 2014. We upgraded it for 2015 and for 2016 too (it's his now but I go to his house once in a month to play). It has dual Titan X's right now. Anyways, I haven't built one since 2014 and that makes me sad. So I am thinking of building one in these summers (vacations). I don't have a budget yet but if I have a $2000 budget, what would be the best gaming PC build and till which year can it run games (see requirements below). The build should include CPU, Motherboard, Graphics Card(s), PSU, RAM, SSD(do tell if in RAID 0), HDD, Monitor, Optical Drive, Sound Card, Keyboard, Mouse, Case and the cooling components necessary. I will try deciding the specs myself (it'll take me "some" time though) but please, do what you can. Minimum resolution - 720p, maximum - whatever it can be. Min. fps for most games (45), max (whatever it can be). Thanks in advance! :)

Take the optical drive. Please.

(unless you really, really need it)

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I wont touch any case that doesn't have drive slots for optical +. Optical is still essential IMO.

I wont upgrade from i7 4790K @4.4GHz 16GBDDR3, GTX980 for at least 2 years (most), only part I will be upgrading is pascals 1080ti P100/P104 (TBC). No point in the upgrading the rest for some time.
