AX1200i vs HX1200i

Hey dudes,

I'm looking into buying a power supply for a potential upcoming project that I will be doing. I've narrowed my selection down to the Corsair AX1200i and the Corsair HX1200i. Would it be worth investing an extra $90 AUD for the AX1200i?

Currently at PC Case Gear (the PC store that I use), the AX1200i is $449 and the HX1200i is $359

Please note, my currency is Australian Dollars (almost worth the same as CAD for reference)

Thanks :)

Not too sure which ones in particular as of yet, but it will be a very powerful computer. I'm building it for a company. It'll have multiple of the new Pascal GPU's when they come out, as well as some pretty high end CPU's and other components...

Seems overkill for just about everything

Maybe, but I'm not asking how overkill it is. The PC wont be for me.

If it is 2 GPUs, a 750W PSU will be enough, 850W will be enough for 3, 1000W should be enough for 4.

You don't need a 1200W PSU.

Are you sure 1000W will be enough for four?

Is there any information on whether the Pascal Titan will use more or less power than the Titan X?

I plugged in the potential components (using 4 Titan X's, 2 Xeon E3's, 128GB RAM) and the load wattage was 1308

If you can get a 1200W Seasonic or EVGA unit for less then I would get that.
