I think the problem is, that you are seeking a particular sound signature, and haven't found it. However, spending more money isn't necessarily going to result in you finding a pair of what you consider "good" headphones. You need to identify what sound signature you are after, and go from there. Spending thousands of dollars isn't the fix.

I've found tons of sound sigs I like, only one I couldn't stand was the one on the HE-560

edit: my bad, I made it sound like I didn't like the sig on the HE560. I meant to say I've like every headphone I've ever had and never minded sound signature much, the only cans I ever disliked were the HE560 (not because of their signature, just in general)

Everything from cheap headphones to LCD 3. If I made a list I would have to list about 60-70 pairs.

It took me about 2 week after trying the LCD 3 to be happy with other headphones, they are insane and their price is also insane. I am a student I don't have that kind of money

so happy about that purchase to be honest... HE-K were my dream cans but I didn't have the $3000 obviously... But soooo many people say the HE-X and HE-K are VERY close in performance, and some people even chose the HE-X over the K! So pretty much got my dream cans for for 1800 dollars off :D

Well LCD 3 is a very detailed pair of headphones "neutral" with a bit more warmth to them than normal neutral headphones has. It's really hard to describe they are just insanely good if you ask me, but they price is also really high.

The 2's are far more forgiving towards poorly mastered songs.
