My friend was trying to install ubuntu on his chromebook and turned it off halfway through and messed it up [EXTREMELY URGENT]

Title explains everything. He is really upset so i desperately need help. Thanks.

Just restart the installation? If it stopped recognizing the drive, pull it out, format it, and put it back.

did it turn off because it ran out of power?
because usually during OS installations it is normal for the PC to turn off and restart itself

No he didn't know what he was doing and wanted to turn it off.

You should be able to just restart the installation from the USB (unless the USB has been corrupted) then you will have to create a new bootable ubuntu usb and start again but don't worry nothing should be permanently dead haha.

Are you installing it through the shared-resources version through crouton, or are you installing it directly onto the drive?
