Sony Vegas Pro VS Adobe Premiere Pro for montages?

Jech

I want to make a CS:GO fragtage but I'm undecided of which program will let me add more professional effects to clips. I have no idea which one to use, so I'm open to suggestions

Lets trade CS:GO skins :3

In my experience Premiere renders faster. And it's just generally nicer to use once you get used to it.

Of the two I prefer Premiere Pro, but its a lot more expensive over time but cheap to use for just a few months.

I have an idea of what the OP meant.  Both Vegas and Premiere, in the skilled hands, can be used to edit and produce wonderful videos.  Sure it might seem like Premiere has more features... but if very little of them are actually used, does it make it better than Vegas?

Nope. As you said it all depends on the user's skills of editing, he's just making a frag movie and I don't think he'll require any of the advanced effects so Vegas might be a good choice.

If the OP doesn't want to spend money on Vegas, even though its way cheaper compared to Premiere, there are Free options for a video editing software.

  • DaVinci Resolve 12, which has few limitations between the Free and Paid versions
  • HitFilms Express
  • Lightworks

Never heard of that before, thanks for letting me know.  I'll check it out and see if can become one of those that we recommend to people on a tight budget.
