Should i play HL,HL2, Portal, Portal 2?

Aytex

In my humble opinion, every one of those are excellent games. I remember me and my brother discovering hl2 for the first time and were blown away. Same thing happened with portal. I highly recommend all of those games

You can skip HL1 and just play HL2, I had never played HL1 and when I tried it like others have said it didn't age well.

Play both the portal games but I prefer portal 1.

Have fun.

Yes, although instead of HL1, grab Black Mesa.

Portal and Portal 2 are some of the greatest games ever made IMO. It's amazing how what is on the surface a simple puzzle game can have evolved into such an engaging story with unique environments, deep characters and a great atmosphere.

For me, I can 100% Portal in about an hour and Portal 2 in about three, but that's only because I have the answers to all the puzzles memorised.

TL;DR Play Portal and Portal 2, you won't regret it. Portal Stories: Mel is also a great mod for Portal 2 when you've finished, basically makes it into Portal 2.5.

HL 1 didn't age well, the gameplay is terrible once you've played anything with crips movement. I play through it once a year because I love the HL universe (ofcourse with nostalgia goggles) but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who didn't expirience the floaty 1st person platforming before. Gameplaywise it's pretty bad by todays standards, storywise it's still great. HL2 on the other hand aged well in my opinion. Give that definitly a shot. And Portal 2 is nothing but beautiful in every way, it might feel short, but in my opinion it makes all the right decisions and doesn't outstay its welcome.

I believe Black Mesa is the exact same game as Half Life but with updated graphics, if anyone was trying to dodge the aged graphics bullet.

portal 2 is excellent, and you'll probably get portal 1 included in a cheap bundle on steam. portal 1 can be completed in an hour or 2

Yes, these games are all amazing.

However, it is important keep in mind when these games were released.  These games introduced graphics and gameplay concepts that were revolutionary at the time, but have since been copied and implemented by about every studio/development team.
